Rick is a Grumpy Wet Owl.
He is grumpy of course because he is wet. You'd think the other reason would be that he only has one leg, but that actually isn't what gets to him. He is really grumpy because he has too much work to do. He has enough to do building his own nest, but he often finds himself helping all the other owls in the forest who never bothered to learn how to build or fix the things in their own nests.
He is learning to let people fix their own mistakes with a smile on his face.
